Digital Photography:
There are a large number of very comprehensive helpful tutorials and links to Digital Photography on the web. I have a few personal favourite techniques, which I will share with you here. Many of my images were created using Photoshop, which I have been "playing with" since version 3.

I ordered my first computer and flatbed scanner complete with transparency lid in 1996 and then visited a lecture in Leicester with Barrie Thomas. Barrie soon had me hooked onto digital photography and I learnt a great deal from him, and another of our close friends, Mel Gigg FRPS. Joining the RPS Digital Group and forming both a monthly DI Group (SWIG) and the RPS Wessex DI Group in 1997, I was able to see all the latest techniques demonstrated and learn from many of the best lecturers around in UK.

Magazines are also a found of knowledge for anyone seeking information and techniques to develop their digital photography techniques. There are many now commercially available. The RPS Digital Imaging Group produces its own magazine, DIGIT for its members only, but some articles can be viewed on their web site at www.digit.org.uk

Easy-to-use photo slide show software

PicturesToExe creates slide show in stand-alone EXE file. Using a clean-looking, intuitive interface, you select pictures from any combination of folders on your system. Then press the Create button. In just moments, you've produced an .exe file that, when run, displays the images with the options you've selected. Options let you specify automatic or manual sequencing, pick the timer interval, adjust font and background properties, and decide whether you want the sequence to run once and terminate or to repeat continuously. You can also add a MIDI, or MP3-based soundtrack and associate each picture with a .wav file. PicturesToExe is a nice way to share your favourite images with others in a compact, easy-to-email form. Ability to create AVI video file.
