There are many different ways to go about making a slide show using ProShow 2.0. Some people like to drop their images in and select random timings, others like to spend more time focusing on the little details that can really make a difference in your presentation.
Regardless of the method you use to create your slide show, we have compiled a list of Tips and Tricks for making amazing slide shows in just minutes.
Story Boarding is a Good Thing!
Mocking up a simple story board of your slide show is the best way to get the results your after. A story board gives you a set of guidelines to follow when you are working with the software and your digital media. Simply sketch out a representation of what you would like your slide show to look like. You can do this by following each slide or by jotting down some general guidelines. You will find that following a story board will not only save you time, but it will help in making your slide show creation process smoother.
Slide Show Timing
All timing in ProShow and ProShow Gold is measured in seconds. To change a transition timing or a slide timing, you should set the time in seconds. You can enter timing using factions of seconds too - just enter a number of seconds containing a decimal (like 0.5 for half a second).
Slide Timing
You can set the timing for any number of slides at once. Select the slides you'd like to change, then click on the time below one of the slide's thumbnails. Enter a new time in seconds, and press Enter.
Adding Photos to your Show
You can add any number of pictures to a show at once. Just select the pictures you'd like to add in the File List and drag them into the show list.
Transition Effects
ProShow and ProShow Gold contain over 280 transition effects. To choose a transition effect, click the transition icon between two slides. You can also set the timing for any number of transitions at once. Select the slides whose transitions you'd like to change, then click on the time below one of the transition icons. Enter a new time in seconds, and press Enter.
Intro Shows
To remove the Photodex Intro Show from a slide show you have created simply go to the Shows button when you are creating your show output. Under the Shows button there is an option to "Remove Intro Show". Uncheck this option and the Photodex Intro Show will not play before your slide show. This option can only be turned off when using a registered copy of ProShow or ProShow Gold.
Key Board Shortcuts
When you are playing a show back in either ProShow or ProShow Gold you can use a number of keyboard shortcuts that will make show creation even faster.
Start and Stop
To stop and start a show in the Preview Playback, simply hit the Space bar.
Save your Work
To Save a show you have been working on simply hit Ctrl + S.
Blank Slides
To insert a blank slide on your slide show timeline hit Alt + I.
Output Options
To Create a DVD hit Ctrl + D.
To Create a VCD hit Alt + V.
To Create a Video file hit Alt + M.
To Create a PC Auto run CD hit Alt + A.
To Create an Executable hit Alt + P.
To Create a Web Show hit Alt + N.
To Share a Web Show hit Alt + U.
